"I was charged with speeding at 79 miles per hour on a road with a 50 mph speed limit and was worried that I might lose my licence as I was a new driver.

I contacted Richard Freeman of Road Traffic Expert solicitors after researching many road traffic firms. I could see he had a very high success rate of winning cases. He advised me to plead not guilty because he was very confident that he would be able to better my situation and even get me off.

He advised me that he would need to look at all the evidence to work out the best strategy for me. I was happy to ask him to do that for me.

He kept me informed of all developments as and when they were being made. He discovered a number of legal and technical points, one which was a completely novel point, which he said could win the case. At the trial he kept me updated with discussions he had with the Fiscal in court.

He advised me that because the Fiscal accepted that my lawyers points were good ones, she was prepared to reduce the speed to a level that would give me the minimum number of points and a low fine. Richard explained the options we had. He explained that we could win the case if we took it to trial, but the Fiscal indicated that because of the far reaching consequences if we won, she would need to appeal it to the Appeal Court.

I didn't want my licence to be revoked so I decided to plead guilty to the lower speed.

Richard put my whole case across very well to the court and I was given just 3 points and £100 fine.

Offence: Speeding

" Following my arrest on two serious charges, which were completely bogus - the arresting officers sought to suppress the charge bar CCTV footage - footage which could demonstrate my innocence.

The police flatly refused to release the required footage, and sought to forcefully bring the discussion to an abrupt end.

Richard was genuinely angered by this, and fought hard to protect my position. He immediately wrote up the necessary court papers, and raised proceedings in the name of the Chief Constable - requesting that the Sheriff order Police Scotland to release the requested footage and audio without delay. We were successful in this, and obtained the "missing" footage - which had been captured on equipment that "wasn't working that day".

On the morning of trial, Richard put forward persuasive arguments to the PF - which convinced them to completely drop the serious driving charge, and accept my Not Guilty plea to this. The PF was further persuaded to remove all lies and exaggerations from the "police obstruction" charge, so that the only thing that remained in the charge was the truth itself.

Thanks to Richard's finely honed advocacy skills, encyclopedic knowledge of law, and expert negotiation skills - I received a Not Guilty verdict for the serious driving charge, and an Absolute Discharge for the police obstruction.

During the trial Richard became more animated, moved around the courtroom with a confident ease, and looked like he truly belonged there. An expert among experts, who represented me fearlessly, and carried a distinct air of gravitas. It was captivating - like watching Mozart play the piano.

The closing arguments Richard presented to the Sheriff were so compelling that he didn't even get the chance to finish them.

They were delivered eloquently, and the Sheriff seemed to be enjoying listening to them as much as I was. To my satisfaction - the Sheriff interrupted at around half way through - and announced that he was granting the Absolute Discharge we were seeking.
